The state of Vanguard in Indonesia

Okay, so I made this blog as an entry for Indonesians to the world of Cardfight!! Vanguard. Since there's so few blogs or articles about the game, I decided to make this blog to post card previews, card reviews, deck strategy and other Vanguard-related topics. Hopefully, this can show the world, especially Bushiroad, that their game(s) are popular too, here in Indonesia.

I think the main questions for those who live outside the country is; "are there even tcgamers in a country like Indonesia?". Well,  unbeknown to most, Indonesia's populace is surprisingly open to trading card games. Magic the Gathering being one of the first to show up, followed up by Pokemon TCG and Yu-Gi-Oh!, the middle class to upper class people here are more than willing to shell out more than $200 for these irresistible collectible cardboards.

Being the youngest TCG who just entered the market, Vanguard has a lot of catching up to do. But fortunately, the TCG's balanced gameplay and play mechanic managed to appeal to a lot of people. This is all probably thanks to Bushiroad's previous game, Weiss Scwarhz. Even though it's in Japanese, a lot of anime enthusiasts here were excited about it. They bought the decks, the booster, the booster boxes and of course, the single cards. Then Vanguard appears out of nowhere and took those players by surprise. They too started playing the Japanese version.

Living in Jakarta, we have several prominent places where people play Vanguard, and other TCG or games;

There are others, but I'm not sure if they hold a regular VG gatherings or tournaments.

After playing the Japanese OCG for quite some time, the English version finally came out. This completely renews the game, inviting non Japanese (translation) readers to play the game. Personally, I'm always eager to jump the wagon and play the game, since most of my close gamer friends are all playing it. But I just haven't got the time. It all changed with the release of the English TCG.

It's been quite a long while since the last time I'm so interested in a new TCG. Personally, I've played Magic the Gathering since the early Urza block, Yu-Gi-Oh since the 1999 Japanese OCG, Pokemon TCG, Duel Masters, Hecatomb, Gundam TCG, VS System, WoW TCG, Vandaria Wars (Indonesian's one and only original TCG), Weiss Schwarz, and finally Vanguard. So, as you guys can see,  I have a LOT of background knowledge and experience regarding gameplay, deckbuilding and things that makes a TCG tick. Vanguard has everything that makes a successful game, and more.

I have great hopes for this TCG, and I hope we can get the proper support from Bushiroad. Until the time comes, I'll be flipping cards and ridin' Vanguards. If you guys from outside the country decided to come here and play some games with me, just drop me an email 'kay. That's all for this first post. Marvel over and out.
